Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) A SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) is a place where you can receive help and advice and a forensic examination if you have been raped or seriously sexually assaulted. REACH is the name of the SARC that is operated in the Northumbria Police area. REACH has two forensic examination centres: the Rhona Cross Suite located in Newcastle and the Ellis Fraser Suite in Sunderland. The suites are not always staffed and are by strict appointment only. REACH covers the geographic area of the Northumbria Police Force this includes Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland. The service are available to women and men aged 16 and over, living within these areas or anyone assaulted within these areas. However, we have close contacts with other SARCs across the country and can refer you to another SARC if necessary.REACH tel: 0191 221 9222
